Lughnasadh
Touching rituals and Celtic magic between sickle and sun
Our Lughnasadh ConsciousTouch Special: putting boundaries, focusing your energy, enjoying abundance
When the fields turn golden yellow and the first sheaves are brought in, Lughnasadh marks the beginning of the harvest – both externally and internally. Our ConsciousTouch Special for this Celtic annual festival invites you to pause, appreciate what has grown and courageously let go of what no longer belongs to you. Through conscious touch, feel how much you have already created – and remember how strong and full of light you are.
Lughnasadh – an invitation for you to walk your path with courage and determination
Lughnasadh honors the resolute side of nature – and also that of the soul: the courage to invite clarity, to make inner and outer cuts, to go for conscious decisions. It is the festival of the mature queen, the mature king, who can say yes powerfully and no just as clearly. In conscious contact with yourself and others, experience how gratitude gives rise to new, nourishing energy.
What does Lughnasadh traditionally stand for?
Lughnasadh (pronounced: Luu-na-sah) means “Gathering of Lugh” and goes back to the Celtic god of light, who introduced this festival in honor of his deceased foster mother Tailtiu. It is the third lunar festival in the Celtic calendar and also the first harvest festival. Traditionally, Lughnasadh (or in the Anglo-Saxon-Christian version: Lammas) is celebrated around the first of August. Lughnasadh stands for gratitude and abundance as well as for consciously cutting and letting go: The first sheaf is cut, the first bread is baked, and that which has matured internally may now be harvested or said goodbye to. A powerful moment between light and shadow, life and death, decision and devotion.
On Lughnasadh, Celtic, Christian and Buddhist influences meet and merge into a loving whole
The ancient harvest time, the worship of light and the power of conscious letting go meet in a space of mindfulness, compassion and body wisdom.
This is what you can expect:
- Grounding, decelerating body and breath work
- Meditations on abundance and inner harvest
- Conscious touch exercises
- Rituals around gratitude, letting go and inner maturity
- A mindful setting that provides space for depth and ease
Preparation for the Lughnasadh evening with us
If it feels right for you, choose clothes in gold, red or earth tones – or something that reminds you of your inner maturity. Bring an ear of corn, a dried plant or another find from nature – something that symbolizes your personal harvest.
And if you like, enjoy a moment of silence before your arrival:
What do you want to let go of – like a sheaf that can be cut? And which part of you now wants to be nourished, celebrated or consciously shared with others?
What we want to make you bring home from our seminar:
- the reminder that you can access your inner maturity and strength at any time
- the ability to combine opposites with ease
- a good feeling, even if you dare to clearly set yourself apart and stand up for yourself
- enjoy celebrating abundance
- let go of the old with joy and confidence in life
- consciously strengthen your inner authority – through presence, breathwork, touch and movement
- feel your royal pride and power – and the fire within you
- the reminder that we are still connected to the old customs, ways of thinking and feeling, even if we may have forgotten this at times
- the willingness to really let yourself be touched on all levels
- meditations and tantric exercises for more clarity, love and presence in everyday life
- exciting entertainment for the mind: curiosities from the world of the Celts, pagans and Christians
- Tantric-Buddhist impulses that help you feel yourself even more and arrive even more in the here and now
- free, authentic exchange in an open-hearted group setting
- after the official end, optional time to connect and physically or energetically tune into the other participants
