Yoga Nidra

Recharge your batteries and experience bliss states by doing nothing

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra helps you to relax. Not through entertainment, substances, mobile phone use, etc., but rather in a natural way. This tantric relaxation technique can reach deep levels of consciousness and make them accessible for you even outside of the sessions.

By allowing yourself to fall into a sleep-like inner calm, you learn to deal with your own feelings and emotions differently: If you imagine that difficult emotions are just undirected energy, you can use Yoga Nidra to become a guiding star for them.

You don’t even need to move during Yoga Nidra, as the entire practice takes place in savasana (lying on your back). If you fall asleep during the practice, it’s no big deal, because similar to autogenic training, Yoga Nidra can support you even when you sleep.

The deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra can relieve chronic pain, reduce inflammation, restore balance in the body and help you to look at things differently, from the perspective of a loving, neutral observer. It stabilizes the nervous system, alleviates stress and promotes inner peace, clarity and resilience. You may even find that you are less judgmental and attached in everyday life – and generally more joyful and confident.

Arthritis and fibromyalgia, back pain, high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety, depression, PTSD, heart disease, atherosclerosis, arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, insomnia, diabetes, thyroid disease can also be alleviated through regular use of Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra in Heidelberg in a safe environment and several times a year for women only

Yoga Nidra works on 4 different levels: body, emotions, mind and subconscious. Tension and stress can dissolve in an almost magical way.

In Yoga Nidra, we primarily work with body awareness and the breath. The mind has a break for the time being. Your subconscious does the work for you.

The following 8 steps are part of classic Yoga Nidra:

  1. Preparation: Relaxation phase with focus on breath
  2. Sankalpa: a kind of affirmation of how you would like to be or something you would like to live in life.
  3. Body Scan: consciously focusing on all parts of the body one after the other-
  4. Breath Awareness: let yourself be called even deeper into the now.
  5. Playing with pairs of opposites: free yourself from old reaction patterns.
  6. Visualization: use strong inner images and by doing so release deep-seated fears.
  7. Inner silence and deep calm: doing nothing and letting everything happen.
  8. Repeating the Sankalpa and ending the practice: you are closer to your new self.

And don’t worry: You don’t have to remember any of this or actively think anything. It’s all about listening. Listen, be still and – for the best effect – stay as awake as possible, that’s all you need to do. 🙂

Similar to Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra also has the effect of making many people feel reborn.

Why Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra Lehrerin Joy S. Hochgesang in meditativer innerer Yogahaltung

Joy S.

Yoga Nidra has been calling me from the very beginning: I don't need to do anything at all and that exactly what allows me to experience the deepest and most intense states of bliss to arise within myself. Bliss that I might even later potentially spread in the world. I love the individual steps of Yoga Nidra, because I can feel more and more how my mind slowly relaxes and switches off in a very particular way: It is simply kept busy all the time until it says: "Okay, enough. You don't need me right now. You're safe."

So far, my mind has always come back some time after the session. 😉 But with a feeling of deeper calm, relaxation, confidence and contentment.

My wish is to not only feel these blissful states and inner peace within me, but I would love you to make similarly fulfilling experiences. That's why I offer Yoga Nidra sessions.

Level 1: Beginners and Advanced

Yoga Nidra is all about you and your experience with yourself. And at the same time, we also make ourselves comfortable as a group: We tune in together before we start with the practice – through a short sharing circle and through movement beforehand. This makes it much easier for all of us to go into the stillness and immobility of Yoga Nidra afterwards. We start this practice in the early evening to make it easier for us to stay awake and alert during the session.

We will take up a different topic each time: For example, Yoga Nidra for falling asleep faster, for more freedom and less jealousy, for more confidence in life, for inviting greater financial abundance. I will announce the topics in advance on the YouMeUnity Telegram channel or choose them spontaneously depending on the energy in the room. If there is a particular topic that is close to your heart, I look forward to receiving your ideas by email.

We won’t talk much after the sessions so that you can stay in this wonderful state of bliss for as long as possible.
